The We Energies Foundation is thrilled to celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2022. Since 1982, the foundation has donated more than $200 million to thousands of nonprofits throughout the We Energies service area.
To mark this momentous milestone, community leaders took part in a special video to share the many ways the foundation has directly benefited communities across Wisconsin.
“On behalf of Milwaukee County, I would like to congratulate the We Energies Foundation on its 40th anniversary,” said David Crowley, Milwaukee County executive. “That’s more than 40 years of supporting impactful organizations, such as Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, City Year and the Milwaukee County Zoological Society, just to name a few, but we know there are many others. Thank you for supporting our community and cheers to many more years.”
“I often talk about the power of partnerships, and the We Energies Foundation has been an amazing community partner,” said Cavalier Johnson, Milwaukee mayor. “Thank you for your continued support and happy 40th anniversary!”
The We Energies Foundation supports initiatives for community and neighborhood development, health and human services, arts and culture, education and the environment. In addition, the company matches its employees’ charitable giving to those initiatives.
