We Energies crews and lineworkers from across the Midwest are working nonstop to restore power to customers affected by this week’s damaging storms.

The company’s crews have restored power to 68,000 customers since the storms began moving across the state on Thursday, July 2. More severe weather caused significant new outages on Friday, July 3.

We Energies expects all customers affected by July 3rd’s storms will have power restored or a crew assigned to their outage by the end of Saturday, July 4. Crews will complete repairs by Saturday afternoon for the remaining outages from July 2nd’s storms.

An army of more than 200 lineworkers from across Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky is working in the field today to get the lights back on. Crews are continuing to clear heavy debris, put electric lines back up that were knocked down and remove large trees and limbs that fell into equipment.

All available crews will continue to work as quickly and safely as possible until power is fully restored.

Customers can receive the latest information on the estimated time of restoration for their outage on the company’s outage map online or its app.

Safety reminder

People who encounter a downed electric line should stay at least 25 feet away, and report the damage to We Energies or local law enforcement immediately. Always treat any downed wire as energized.
