The results are clear: Clara has been voted the next We Energies safe digging “ambassadog.”

She may still be a puppy, but this golden retriever now has the golden opportunity to remind you to call 811 at least three days before you dig.

We Energies customers and dog lovers alike cast more than 8,000 votes in this year’s safe digging photo contest, with Clara coming out on top.

This sweet pup from St. Francis will spend the next year as the star of a social media campaign designed to remind people to dig safely.

She’ll also be featured on digital billboards across Milwaukee County on National Safe Digging Day, Monday, Aug. 11 (8/11).

In addition to digging, Clara’s humans say she loves chasing her favorite squeaky toy, snuggling and posing for photos.

Clara is the 11th We Energies safe digging ambassadog. The company started the program more than a decade ago to help spread the important message about calling 811 before you dig.
