I’da bet you’ll call 811 at least three days before you dig when you meet Idaleen, the next We Energies safe digging “ambassadog.”
We Energies customers and dog lovers alike cast more than 10,000 votes in this year’s safe digging photo contest, with Idaleen coming out on top.
The 16-month-old German shepherd from Hartford will spend the next year as the star of a social media campaign designed to remind people to dig safely.
In addition, she was featured on digital billboards across Milwaukee County on National Safe Digging Day, Sunday, Aug. 11 (8/11) and recently interviewed by WTMJ-TV’s Andrea Williams.
In addition to digging, Idaleen’s humans say she loves to meet new people and their pups, chase balls and run.
Idaleen is the 10th We Energies safe digging ambassadog. The company started the program a decade ago to help spread the important message about calling 811 before you dig.
