The We Energies Foundation is thrilled to donate more than $18,000 to Malaika Early Learning Center in partnership with the Brewers Community Foundation. It’s all part of a special promotion called Ks for a Cause. For the eighth year in a row, the We Energies Foundation pledged a $25 donation for every strikeout by a Brewers pitcher at home.
After another successful season and more than 700 strikeouts, a representative of the foundation presented Malaika Early Learning Center with a check for $17,350 at one of the final regular season games. The grand total, including the last few regular season games, comes to $18,600.
Malaika Early Learning Center is a state-of-the-art learning facility that works collaboratively with families to establish a strong academic, social and emotional foundation in the lives of Milwaukee’s economically disadvantaged children.
The We Energies Foundation is proud to support hundreds of charitable groups every year. In 2023, the foundation donated $14.6 million in support of education, community and neighborhood development, health and human services, arts and culture, and the environment.
