We Energies is celebrating moms this Mother’s Day. The company asked employees to submit pictures and provide a few thoughts about what it means to be a mom.

Here are their words.

“‘Mom’ is by far my most treasured role. From pushing three children under 3 in a double-wide stroller, to running with my now-adult children while pushing my granddaughter in a stroller through the snow during a 2.62-mile Thanksgiving fun run, being together as a family brings me immeasurable joy.” — Peggy Kelsey, executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary

“Being a mom is my favorite thing. My children bring the best out of me. They make me be more patient, kind, forgiving and optimistic. Their sense of adventure is contagious, and they remind me to slow down and live in the moment with them.” — Michelle Glynn, director — Wisconsin system operations

“Being a mom allows me to offer unconditional love, practice patience and receive joy.” — Alison Castronovo, senior engineer — environmental

“Being a mom is a rewarding experience where you get beautiful memories that will carry you through life. I love spending time with my daughters and getting to experience all their successes while watching them grow into the beautiful individuals that they are.” — Jennifer Polinski, senior corporate governance specialist

“I love being a mom to six children. I got to make my own friends.” — Jeanne Williams, senior commodity specialist — supply chain

“I love seeing my children, grow, mature and develop into little independent knowledgeable creatures. Seeing them tackle obstacles with confidence because we’ve built them up to believe in themselves and given them the tools and knowledge to do anything makes my heart explode with happiness.” — Jeannette Schultz, designer

“My favorite part of being a mom is watching my daughter learn and experience new things. Hannah is always so excited and adventurous, and seeing the joy on her face just makes my heart so happy.” — Jennifer Crneckiy, secretary

It allows me to STOP and enjoy all the little, silly, interesting things life has to offer –—especially when viewed through the eyes of a 7-year-old.” — Meghan Count, chief of staff for executive vice president — customer service and operations

“I love being a mom to Bennett and Sydney because they make me a better person. They are my ‘why’ for everything I do!!” — Nicole Smullen, project manager — customer operations
