We Energies will begin work to install new natural gas infrastructure in Tomah on Aug. 17. The project is part of the company’s ongoing focus on providing safe, reliable service to area homes and businesses.

We Energies’ work will include installing a new natural gas main along County Highway ET between Flagship Avenue and Parkview Drive. The new line will allow We Energies to continue receiving natural gas from a nearby transmission pipeline after the pipeline operator relocates its equipment in the area.

Traffic impacts of construction

During construction, County Highway ET will be temporarily closed from Gondola Road to Jones Court so work can be performed safely. This temporary road closure will take place from Aug. 17 to Sept. 4.

Vehicles will be able to use Wisconsin State Highway 21 and U.S. Highway 12 during this time to travel around construction areas. Detour signs will be posted to guide vehicles around construction areas while work is underway.

Additional project details

We Energies continues to work closely with city and county agencies to minimize the impact of its work on nearby homes and businesses. The company is communicating directly with property owners near the new main to share more information about its work as the project progresses.

We Energies expects to complete its work by early November.
